Offline Products
Offline products are usually available to the customer within days
after receipt of raw imagery and GIS input data. These products
are based on algorithms and processes developed by our founder and
President, Ernie Carroll. As such, we
refer these technologies as "Ernie-ware".
- Rapid -- 23-30 m resolution, 6-10 classes -- This
process produces good thematic accuracy land cover and can
be used to process, at high speed, large volumes of SPOT, LandSat
or other medium resolution, multispectral images into thematic
maps. Because of thematic and geospatial control issues, this
process is currently only available for imagery of rural areas
within the United States.
- High Accuracy -- 20-30 m resolution, 10-16 classes
-- This process produces high thematic accuracy land cover from
SPOT, LandSat or other medium-spatial-resolution, large area, multispectral
scenes, by making use of samples of time-coincident high-spatial-resolution,
panchromatic imagery in the processing.
- Radar Land Use/Land Cover -- 8.1 to 30 m resolution,
5-10 classes -- This medium to high thematic accuracy process
produces, from available radar data to include AIRSAR (airborne radar
system operated by Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA) and RadarSat
(spaceborne radar system operated by the Canadian Space Agency),
land use and land cover data previously believed impossible to
obtain from radar. The process, which has been optimized for urban
and suburban environments, is of particular utility for areas
of the world with high cloud cover.
- One Image City Digital Elevation Models -- to
3 m post-spacings -- This high spatial accuracy process permits
the generation of city DEMs from a single 1 m spatial resolution satellite image. Thus reducing
imagery collection costs by 50 percent. Since, as with any imagery
collected for DEM generation, collection geometry is critical,
it is critical that GDS be involved in the tasking of the data
to be used in this process.
